“The listing is very accurate. Please do note that they are absolutely correct in saying this is not an entirely quiet location. Ear plugs are provided. Within walking distance of the Santa Fe Depot(train station). Lil less than a couple mile walk to Balboa Park. Very centrally located. ”

“We loved our stay here! The place was clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable, and we had everything we needed. We cooked everyday, and had a little trouble with the stove at first, but Ryan kindly came over to show us how to operate it. Their place is close to everything-the beach, restaurants, airport and train station. Restaurants and beaches are very close within walking distance. You do not need a car to stay here. We can’t wait to come back!”

“We enjoyed the space of this two-bedroom apartment, above a coffee shop. It's about 2 blocks to the beach, and two blocks in the other direction to the bay. Best of all, it's right on a bus line. “The LOCATION is the absolute best for this little gem. Beds are super comfy! Bathroom was very tiny, but completely doable. Owners responsive. Olives cafe was just around the corner and had delicious breakfast. Cheap rentals was very friendly and convenient to the beach. Would recommend! ”

“I was pleasantly surprised when i walked in. It was very spacious. The pictures online does not do it justice. It was sparkling clean, great location, the bed was comfortable. My daughter said the sofa sleeper was extremely comfortable as well. It’s the best stay I’ve ever had. I stay in only 4 stars, so this property met my criteria. It may not mean anything to anyone else but it was “budget happy”. 10 out of 10, I would definitely recommend this location.”

“I had a short but great stay. The bed, including the pillows and sheets, were SO comfortable! I stayed on the East side but did not have any issues with the freeway noise. Light does get in around the curtains so maybe not the spot for those who need total darkness, but otherwise would definitely recommend. It was also nice to be close to many restaurants, coffee shops, etc.”

"The hotel itself is great, but this time the experience was terrible. We stayed in Room 656, and from 1 AM to 4 AM, there was constant noise and commotion next door. It seemed like someone was drunk, and they were banging on the walls the whole time. I couldn't sleep at all throughout the night. The next day, I went to the front desk to negotiate a solution. I asked for a refund since I didn't sleep at all, and I didn't even request any additional compensation. The front desk staff seemed to agree and said it was possible, but they needed Expedia to contact their hotel because Expedia was the one who charged me. So I had to leave the hotel and try to contact Expedia. The result? The hotel refused to refund me. This means that not only did I not get any sleep, but I was also deceived by the hotel. What a "wonderful" experience."

"I stayed in The Horton Grand for six nights from 8/16 till 8/22 in 2024. Unbelievably, my room (#321) did not have a refrigerator, although two staff members at the front desk (reception) claimed that every room had one. I remember several years ago before the pandemic my room did have a microwave oven and a refrigerator when I stayed in the same hotel."
