“I had a choice of hotels in Leeds or the Black Horse. I'm so glad I chose the latter. Some extra driving, but great to be in a historic building in a historic area, and so close to the motorway and service station.”

“Stay in a working monastery! The buildings and extensive grounds are superb. The grounds and gardens are well tended, and make for an extremely pleasant stroll. The place oozes character and makes a memorable visit. All this on the outskirts of Huddersfield. The rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast is only "continental", offering cereals, muesli, yoghurt, plenty of fresh bread for toast and lots of strong filter coffee. The staff are friendly and welcoming.”

“Nice and easy to find this hotel with loads of parking spaces. The check in is so easy here, numberous tablets and a staff member on standby the help. I checked in late and this was no problem at all. The room was lovely, really comfy bed with different firmness of pillow options. Spacious enough for a chair, a desk and a wardrobe. The lighting was great with many different options. The bathroom had a bath and a powerful rainfall head shower and was also pretty spacious. The self serve breakfast……

“Stayed here a couple of times now when visiting, it's great, sadly the lift didn't work on my last visit, so not good if you struggle with stairs and I was on the third floor !! ”

“What a lovely place, check in was nice & easy & the receptionist was very welcoming & friendly. We had a drink in the pub & all staff were super friendly, especially the lad who was also on check out this morning! We didn’t have breakfast as we went to my parents house nearby & my dad cooked for us 😊”

“Good location close to the railway station and within walking distance of all amenities. Nice room, comfortable bed and tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was good and toiletries were provided but there wasn’t a mirror in the bathroom which made shaving a bit difficult but this may be due to the hotel undergoing a refurbishment. The breakfast was reasonably priced and there was plenty of it. We were on the third floor and there wasn’t a lift which wasn’t an issue but it could be……
