“Good location close to the railway station and within walking distance of all amenities. Nice room, comfortable bed and tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was good and toiletries were provided but there wasn’t a mirror in the bathroom which made shaving a bit difficult but this may be due to the hotel undergoing a refurbishment. “Stay in a working monastery! The buildings and extensive grounds are superb. The grounds and gardens are well tended, and make for an extremely pleasant stroll. The place oozes character and makes a memorable visit. All this on the outskirts of Huddersfield. The rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast is only "continental", offering cereals, muesli, yoghurt, plenty of fresh bread for toast and lots of strong filter coffee. The staff are friendly and welcoming.”

“Just a couple of minor niggles, which did not really detract from the overall impression of a great place to stay in Hebden Bridge. Our room was spacious and comfortable but had a broken lamp shade and a loose leg on the dressing table stool both of which should be easy fixes. “Stayed here when visiting for a wedding in Holmbridge. Could not fault the stay. I knew we would be arriving around midday and was concerned because check in was not till 3pm. Called a few days before to ask about early check-in, and the gentleman on the phone was so friendly and helpful- said they would do all they could to have our rooms ready early.
