“We had an amazing stay. It had everything we needed for a night. There were board games and plenty of books to keep you entertained. The bathroom was very tidy and clean. The bed was super comfortable. The details of the property added extra comfort too.
We were visiting Stamford so it was an easy 15min drive through countryside.
The owner was super friendly, very communicative and attentive.
Thank you again! ”
“Stayed here for 3 nights do a conference locally and it was perfect. Friday enjoyed a beautiful meal in the restaurant. Staff went above and beyond. Very approachable if I had any questions. Looking forward to coming back next year! ”
“The hotel was lovely. Breakfast was great. Unfortunately on booking we didnt look at opening times. We booked to stay on a Monday. The hotel takes bed & breakfast bookings but the bar & restaurant isnt open on Mondays. So we had to drive 15 minutes to another village for food. Not what we realy wanted to do, but the luckily the other pub served food. It only says on opening time that the bar & restaurant is closed Mondays. It needs to more clearer on website as why would we look at……
“It was a really lovely hotel. Very friebdly night receptionist. I only got to the hotel at 11pm and left at 9.30 the next morning, but my room was super clean and very comfortable. The only thing that could have made it better was more sockets, but really that's such a tiny thing. I just unplugged something else and plugged my bits in. Bed was really comfy. ”
“Lovely pub/hotel with lots of old world charm. Clean and comfortable in a great location. Stayed for Sunday lunch which was excellent. Bedroom was spacious and had everything you could need. My only very slight negative was the traffic noise, as our room was at the front. ”
“ Good points ;-Lovely clean rooms and lovely staff.Breakfast was tasty,
Not so good points;-not enough tea facilities. The back stairs you have to use after hours are steep and worrying when walking down them.”
“Hotels.com didn’t make me aware that the hotel was closed, the owners of the hotel were not expecting guests, as they were refurbishing the hotel, fortunately the hotel owners were great and arranged a room for me to stay. The hotel is in a good location to explore Rutland Water, I would be happy to stay again but wouldn’t book through Hotels.com”
“A lovely setting overlooking Rutland Water. The grounds are well kept and it's a very pleasant way to spend a weekend. The Blossom restaurant staff were engaging and helpful, taking time to talk to customers. The spa experience was wonderful and again the receptionist and masseuse were a pleasure. Would definitely like to return.”
“This was probably the weirdest hotel experience in my life. The huge manor has been converted to a hotel but has been neglected recently (including a time housing asylum seekers - Google it). The time around 10 of the 100+ rooms are being used so you “rattle around” especially when you’re the only guests!!
The hotel needs investment but it has so much potential and you can imagine it being a thriving hotel in the past. Imagine Covid and only a few rooms allowed to open. We knew there were no……
