“It was lovely to wake each morning to birdsong and pastoral views. Perfect for people like us who don't crave crowds. We were close enough to beaches, botanical gardens, farmers markets, historical sights, and amenities that we could easily have our fill of adventures and yet still have a quiet oasis to retreat to. We felt instantly at home! When our home fins didn't fit into our carry on luggage, we prepared ourselves to rent and return fins somewhere on the Big Island. It was a happy……

“Loved everything about this place! The location is great. We walked across the street to watch the sunset every evening, always a stunning show. The house was easy to live in, equipped with everything we needed. We spent a lot of time on the lanai which looks toward the ocean. There’s beach equipment, and the beaches are a very short drive from the house. There’s also a park at the end of the street where you can get in the water if you’re on the more adventurous side. “Staying in the Waipio Valley is a magical experience and Kristi and Sukumar's cottage is the perfect place to do it. We used the small kitchenette to cook meals each night, hiked, did trail runs, walked to the black sand beach and viewed the epic waterfalls. It was incredible and we can't wait to come back.”

“We stayed over Christmas break 2024. We arrived and immediately checked out the beach. Saw the tide pools and turtles right away. We were sold. The water was not too rough because of the coral reef break. We usually stay on North shore of Oahu and water is not conducive to all ages and skill levels. This beach accommodated our youngest (9 yr old) to our oldest (70 yr old) and us in between, too!Turtles everyday, fish everyday, an eel on occasion… and whales almost everyday. The beds were……

“This property was exactly as listed if not better. Whale watching from the porch anytime of day; or lounging in the sun overlooking the ocean. The serenity of being immersed in nature ; from the birds, horses, frogs, geckos. The night sky was absolutely magnificent. And occasionally able to see the silhouette of Maui. Thats all, and then the actual views of the healing energy of Waipio Valley. I enjoyed having a little haven to go to after a day of sight seeing! The house was completely stocked……

“This is a very special home about a 1.5 miles from the Waipio Valley Lookout. It's most suited for a couple with small kids or a single traveler. The front lanai view is gorgeous and their is also a lovely back patio with a small orchard. You are fully immersed in nature and the wonderful geckos combat the insects. It takes a few days to get used to their clicking through the night as they are loud and locquacious. Walking to Waipio daily was fantastic.I was extremely pleased with the fully……
