“This house is a grand old lady, comfortable with a few quirks befitting her age. The downstairs is spacious and we were able to fit 17 around the dinner tables available. Kitchen was well outfitted. There is a very steep staircase however, which some might find intimidating. Also, due to the age and draftiness of the house, the heating system was barely able to keep up with the 28-30 degree temps outside. Probably more comfortable in the non-winter months. Would stay again. ”

“This house is stunning and right on the Smith River. It was so peaceful sitting on the back porch listening to the water. The house its self was so cozy, cute, clean, and just perfect for our stay. I had a little date mishap and Nikki was so helpful and understanding! This is a must stay ”

“If you like to be off the grid, this is a great place to stay. We do this once a year and completely unplug from phones, computers, etc. This place was perfect for exactly that. It's remote and there's nothing better than the sound of a river. We had a total of 4 adults, 3 kids, and our 2 labs. Everyone had a wonderful time. It's a little bit of a walk to the river but once there, it's secluded and water is crystal clear. Thank you, Jim, for allowing us to stay at your place. ”

“The location was fantastic. We really enjoyed the view of the river. The cabin was well stocked and comfortable. Marian was very kind. We would love to visit again.”

“Our stay was good, but couldn't use the hot tub, was leaking and wouldn't heat over 95. Also, some remotes available had no batteries, and we had to buy some. No instructions for TV or other media equipment. The TV upstairs and in one of the bedrooms didn't work. We were able to watch a variety of TV in the living room. Was super clean, that was nice. The beds in the first floor bedroom felt awful and hard when we sat on them, but we slept fine.”

“Things I wish I knew: (1) how far the hike was between the parking lot and greenhouse. I was exhausted by the drive only to find I had to haul my stuff up a steep incline. I would have prepared differently. (2) how you define a bathroom - I didn’t need much but again, I would have planned differently if I had know what you offered. 3) how bad the roads and bridge were - I don’t mind an adventure but had there been a place to turn around I would have done so and slept in my car. I considered it……

“This little house was perfect for our long weekend in Etna California. Very close to town but cozy and quiet. In the morning deer would be eating grass in the backyard. The kitchen is very well stocked and plenty of seating. Didn’t get to use the fireplace, but it looked cute. We would definitely stay here again. ”

“Loved the place. It was peaceful and enjoyed the quiet. Definitely will stay again. Had everything except mittens. Also the only thing that they may need to replace is the can opener. Couldnt open my can of soup with it. Other than those minor issues, the place was great. Thank you for letting me stay there. ”
