“Had a lovely stay absolutely amazing meal in the Pickled Sprout. Fantastic service friendly staff all round. Only issue was the room was way too hot (not much the hotel could do about that short of installing air conditioning) we had 3 fans in the room which made it bearable. Next time we will defo ask for a room with a window. Yes we will be back .”

“We wanted an overnight stay on our way to the Lake District and found a perfect gem of a hotel. From the moment we arrived we were cared for by great staff. Our bedroom was a suite and just gorgeous. Dinner and breakfast were superb with plenty of choices. Wandering around the extensive beautifully manicured grounds we found the kitchen garden which is obviously used for a great deal of the food in the hotel. Just wished we could have stayed longer. ”

“It was a good hotel, we were visiting family in the area so was a nice base. We had stayed at other nearby hotels so wanted to try this one. It was okay for one night, we booked in for dinner. The menu is extremely limited for dietary requirements, with things listed as vegetarian that weren't and food didn't match description. We didn't book breakfast, again as similar wanted a much refresher breakfast rathan than a fry up. Gave 4 stars as was a lovely bed, very comfortable! The bathroom……

“Absolutely lovely. Booked through Expedia. Upon arrival we were expected & welcomed by the host. The place was family run and everyone we encountered was brilliant, all working together & multitasking, like a well oiled machine. We stopped in room 12 on the 1st floor, it even had a little balcony with astro turf, table & chairs to allow us to sit out and watch the sunset over the trees in the distance.
