“We wanted a relaxing and peaceful holiday with a pool and view and good service. This hotel didn’t disappoint us. There are only six rooms so the service was personal and exceptional. The hotel is located at the quieter end of the Hikkadawa stretch of beach which suited us. The livelier bars and hotels were only a short walk away too. There are buses every five minutes just outside that took us to the Tsunami museum one day and Galle Fort another for about 50p each, each way. Great fun and……

“Alles Essen war fantastisch und gegenüber Schweizer Preisen sehr günstig. Zimmer toll, eher etwas klein, langte jedoch. Im Schrank nicht viel Platz. Tolle Aussicht vom Balkon auf‘s Meer. Manchmsl dauerte es etwas sehr lange, bis man das bestellte Essen und die Getränke erhielt. An der Reception sprachen sie eher schlecht englisch. Als wir für einen Ausflug fragten, streckten sie einem nur ein Heft hin. Um eine Adresse zu erfahren, war es sehr mühsam. Jeden Abend tolle Life-Musik bis ca 22……

“Great stay! Very reasonable price so I cannot complain. King bed room on 2nd floor. Right on the beach and property has a pool (I did not use). Wifi is not strong. On the last night, the AC in my room kept saying “EC” and not working. I would’ve told staff if I had noticed it before late in the evening on my last night. Also, did not appear to be hot water in my room, but it’s a very hot climate so the cool water was nice. Did not eat at the restaurant as other options nearby were less costly. ”

“A beautiful tranquil stay, great for relaxing and disconnecting. Brilliant spa facilities on-site for massages with especially caring staff. Our butler Roshan was fantastic, when he came to know we were unwell he organised a complimentary herbal inhalation session at the spa, brought us lots of honey and kept checking on us to see what we needed. “ This is typical old Hotel. The building is old and the technology (water, electricity ) is old, but all works. Situation in the city is excellent; near centrum, on the beach. Good bed to sleep and the sound of waves is soothing. Good beakfast and the limits from food allergy were well taken into account. And also very early mornig breakfast when needed was possible. “We booked and paid via hotel.com BUT when we arrived the manager explained Expedia instructed him to charge us for the room. We spent 2 hours chatting with hotels.com whereby they promised to refund us, so we also paid cash (so double) while waiting for hotels.com to refund us. BUT we now received a email explaining they could NOT get in contact with hotel and will NOT REFUND us! ”
