“I needed a room for a couple of nights around Horsley Village. The Lodge is an excellant location and the rooms are adequate and clean. Wonderfull setting in the countryside”

“Came to stay for a wedding here it was clean and staff were polite. How ever when i booked i asked if it was cash/card to get drinks etc which they said yes we take both. On getting our first drink before the wedding we was attending to be told it was card only. I was very annoyed by this as CASH IS KING. Luckily i had taken my card but really didnt want to be using it. I think for a wedding to be held there they should take both types of payment as not everyone wants to pay by card. Other than……

“The hotel was in the perfect location for the rail station, which was the reason for booking. The hotel was adequate in regards to their facilities, and the owner was very friendly, which is always a plus. The room was small, but fine for an overnight stay. It was a little bit musty in smell, though probably just needed airing a little bit more. Breakfast was reasonable and I was accommodated for allergies and preference. ”

“We really enjoyed staying at forest lodge. We were made to feel very welcome and relaxed in the bar area. Staff were welcoming and kind and friendly. A lady gave us a free bottle of Prosecco to help us celebrate our anniversary. Sitting in the bar having a meal and a drink was one of my highlights on our break. Some of the hotels main procedures cause them a bit of difficulty. For instance asking everyone for photo ID at check in- if this needs to be done it could be done at booking. Also……

“Lovely hotel venue and grounds. Have stayed previously and room was excellent. Unfortunately this time was in one of cottage rooms which felt very dated and was in need of some attention.”

“Really lovely place in beautiful location. Room was fabulous, very clean and comfortable. Was very quiet too and got an excellent nights sleep.The bar was great for a late night drink before bed, staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent ( cooked options not included in price) the only negative was there was no gluten free option. Would definitely stay again.”
