“The property was tastefully furnished which reflected its historical past. There was a spacious sitting room for use by guests and a kitchen equipped for the heating and simple cooking of meals. The tasty breakfasts were cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients. There was a small but pleasant garden with suitable seating areas. The staff were always welcoming, helpful and friendly. “I have stayed in the hotel for several time and always enjoy it. A great hotel if you want to visit the city. I never try to dinner but the breakfast is superb. Also a nice bar which provides great selection of drinks”

“Hotel is in a lovely area, especially if you like horse racing. Don’t arrive early though as it is £30 for early check in, even if the room is available, you are not permitted to use the pool until checked in so the only option is to come back later or go to the hotel bar and wait, or pay £30. The rooms are nice, a bit dated, but bathrooms appear to have been recently renovated. Rooms have aircon which is good, and the beds are comfy. “Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I would say is because it is a pub it can be a little loud if you are wanting and early night. This didn’t affect us but I know some people it will. The food in the pub was very tasty too. ”

“I booked a single room with private bathroom. However, it does not locate in the room. I needed to go outside every time I used the closet and even I washed my hands. It’s not what I want for privacy and convenience although I was the only one who kept the bathroom key!”
