“At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Making things worse, there is literally not a single thing of interest in Kumara (it only exists because it is a stop on the West Coast Wilderness Trail). “Lake Brunner Longhouse far exceeded our expectations! The facilities are standard and the room and bathroom are not huge, but they are more than adequate and spotlessly clean. The location is wonderfully rural, but only a few minutes drive from Moana. The service from Lisa was outstanding - so friendly and accommodating.
