“We had a very good welcome when we arrived late due to a wedding we were attending. Quick and efficient check-in. Rooms were generally good, although the shower had signs of orange bacteria and some black mould on the ceiling. The bottom of the shower door and sealant around it was tatty and looked dirty, so much so that I didn’t want to use it. “We booked for a one night stay, as we were attending our Aunts 80th Birthday party and had to travel a distance. Our evening meal was acceptable as traditional pub grub and the service/staff were very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was FAB, we had a full English and couldn't fault. “Food was excellent. Room was very comfortable. My usual bugbear is staffing and service but at this hotel I'd say 100 percent is selling them short . Could not ask for better service particularly in the savvy fox restaurant. Will definitely be staying here again. Only downside was we were only staying 1 night. Well done. ”

“The building itself seems old and is full of characters. Room doors are still open using old fashioned key, tiny tv screen like the old days. As I was only staying for 2 nights, there isn't a need for my room to be freshen up, though there isn't anywhere outside the door where you can hang the 'do not disturb' sign. The shower was a bit too tiny with the switch that switch outwards, you can easily switch off the shower by turning or turn up/down the heat.”

“Easy check in, room was a good size. Wasn't noisy throughout the night although we could hear everything in the hallway in the morning. Breakfast options were good and the staff were happy and helpful. Would stay here again gladly if in the area.”
