“Top notch facilities, friendly staff and overall excellence. This was our second visit to the Celtic collection. We stayed at the Celtic manor during our first and now, the manor house. Breathtaking facilities and excellence in service. I am sure this won't be our last.”

“Lovely clean modern room. Lots of clean fresh towels. Nice thick carpets and so no disturbance from below room. Large shower area with good water pressure. Sadly it had no shelf to put shampoo and shower gel whilst in there. Lovely white cotton bedding. The only minus with the room was that it was very warm, i know its i Wales and not noted for warm weather. A fan in the room would be a good addition just in case any more warm days bless Newport. Breakfast was plentiful and the ladies……

“This owner should be ashamed. We booked as it had free parking. The owner text in advance to share our number plate so he could register, which we did. We then also did it in person with him on arrival. We have then had 4 months of charges, months of letters and calls from a debt recovery company and told we would be sent to court if we didn’t pay the £170. He told me he cancelled it 2 months ago, but is refusing to take any calls, won’t reply to any texts and we’ve been forced to spend £170 on……

“A really lovely welcome and a lovely stay. Room was clean and had all the facilities you’d need for a comfortable stay. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It was a little busy in the restaurant due to a wedding and a large birthday happening at the same time but once we got some attention we were looked after. Breakfast was nice but would have appreciated some alternative milks on the buffet due to my dairy allergy. ”

“Reasonably priced. City centre location with nearby secure parking (for a fee). Very quiet and clean rooms. Comfortable bed and powerful shower.”

“We spent 4 nights at the Kings Head and it was a perfect place to stay. The newly renovated bedrooms and bathrooms were pristine and very roomy, and the breakfasts were delicious, especially the local sausages. Stepping into the bar was like going through a time portal into the 1600's: there was a cozy fire burning, low beamed ceilings, and pewter tankards hanging from hooks. The fresh local fish on the daily special's menu was superb. But best of all was the attentive, friendly service from……

“The setting is stunning surrounded by beautifully maintained grounds. A beautiful building, very tastefully decorated. Quiet and peaceful, great night's sleep. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. A shirt walk to the town. I would very highly recommend it.”

“Another great stay at TY Magor, the only thing I would do is move the picnic bench from the main entrance around the side with the other benches it’s not a good look when you arrive and not good for those that are staying in the rooms right above it.(This is a quick win for the hotel if they do this)”
