“just a fun, funky little town - the union hotel goes way back - would love to have seen it in its hey day! and if you can get a room (only 2 of 4) with direct balcony access even better (but you can access the balcony from the hallway for the other 2 rooms) - homemade breakfast (you get a selection) is - well - special - as is the super cool lady who does it all: hostess, waitress, busser - and most importantly - *chef*!! she's remarkable! want to go back on a friday to experience some of their……
“There were drunk loud people in the room right under us. They kept us awake, we asked them nicely to be quiet. But it didn't change, so I called down to the front desk. She said she was familiar with the guys in the room and would talk to them. She did and they were quiet. The walls are very thin in the rooms, you can hear what everyone on each side of you is doing and saying. It needs insulation.
It would be nice if they served a continental breakfast. Having said all that, I would……
“Here with three friends for girls getaway. Love the property, close proximity to town, walkability, parking. Loved the grounds.
No full length mirrors in room, nor hangars for clothing. Because part of the building is from the 1800's, the renovations have "piped in air-con" with was through a vent in the window, but it did work.”
“My wife and I stayed at the National Hotel for our 26th anniversary and had a wonderful time. You feel like you've traveled back in history with interesting decor and antiques everywhere but with all the modern conveniences we're all so used to. We'd been waiting for the bar and restaurant to reopen after a remodel and were not disappointed. The atmosphere, food, and drinks were spectacular.
By far the best part of our stay was the staff. From check-in to departure, everyone was extremely nice……
“The staff was friendly and helpful and considering the age of the property, it was very clean. The rooms were huge and they all had a pretty view of the field behind the property. This property was conveniently located near a wedding venue we were headed to. It was not fancy but it was very clean. ”
