“The grounds were amazing. We were allowed to pick our own fruits like papaya, sapote, banana, mountain apple, avocado, cacao, etc. The property was clean and cozy, and the outdoor shower was very nice. Only downside was a couple of loud coqui frogs at night, and it was a bit of a drive to Hilo.”

“From the moment we arrived on the property, we could tell it was going to be beautiful! The little cabin is situated in the middle of the forest 10 minutes from volcano national Park. The grass driveway and surrounding forestry is pretty amazing to arrive too. The cabinet itself is clean and updated, while still remaining very charmingly rustic. There's a huge shower and the water gets hot very quickly. The fireplace under the television is a beautiful addition for chili nights. And the washer……

“Biggest advantage of the house is the short distance to the N.P. The house itself could be a little bit more cleaned. Also the bed is not very comfortable. But all in all we had a good time. ”

“We absolutely loved the property - it was a peaceful, tropical retreat. The guest house was super clean and very well provisioned and the grounds were beautifully landscaped. There were pineapples, papayas, plumeria, orchids and so much more. It was so relaxing to sit on the lanai in the evening with a cool drink and listen to the sounds of the tree frogs and the burbling of the koi pond.”

“This cottage was a great place to rest and relax while visiting Volcanoes NP. The area is very quiet and close to the park!”

“We had a great stay. Pictures represent the property well. The place is about 20 minutes from Pahoa city-center (if that’s helpful). Met Sean who shared some insights about the area and local cuisine. Ashley was great at communicating and checking in with us via VRBO messages. Overall we had a really nice time in the area and were grateful to have a peaceful place to stay as we explored this side of the Island.”

“This is a beautiful place and quite clean. They also have a cache of masks, snorkel, chairs and other beach items which is helpful. We used this cottage as base camp to visit Volcanoes NP. It is a good option if you have a rental car. They don't call it the "Big Island" for nothing. There is a lot of windshield time when traveling the area. My only constructive criticism of this property, as well as almost all other VRBOs, is to reduce the unnecessary furniture, bookshelves, and tchotchkes that……

“We had a wonderful stay at La Cappana. The historic cabin is in a fantastic location in Volcano town right near the Kilauea Lodge with its fantastic restaurant and the Swap Meet at the community center, and a quick and easy drive to the best of Volcano National Park. Even though it is so close to everything Volcano has to offer, the property feels very private with lots of native plants and trees. We enjoyed watching all the birds with our morning coffees We had an added bonus of visiting……

“I had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. The kitchen was amazingly equipped and the bed was incredibly comfy! The back lanai was a place I never wanted to leave and the sweet area next to cottage was a perfect place to hang with my son and family when they came over to visit me. A very sweet neighborhood and I loved falling to sleep hearing the deep ocean roar and the incredible symphony of koki frogs and crickets. I cannot wait to return soon! ”
