“What a wonderful place! We booked the cheapest room and stayed only 1 night but we absolutely loved it and wished we had stayed longer. Monkeys came to our balcony and we saw more monkeys and an iguana on the way to the beach (a 5 minute walk downhill). Great restaurant options in the area within walking distance. “We loved our stay in Luxury Standard Room 209 at Tulemar. We saw squirrel monkeys daily from our balcony, and toucans, sloths, scarlet macaws, leaf-cutter ants, frogs, bats, and iguanas on the grounds also. The private beach was never crowded, and we appreciated the complimentary umbrellas and chairs, as well as the ability to order food and drinks from Tule Cafe while on the beach. “After this stay I think boutique hotels will be our new favourites. The hotel was small, quiet and comfortable. It was clean with a very spacious room and a balcony overlooking the pools and jungle-like setting where we could see monkeys, etc. The staff at the hotel provide excellent service and help with explaining excursions and recommend ones that suit your specific wants/needs.
