“Absolutely brilliant!! The room was lovely, everything in it you could want and more. Very generous with toiletries and refreshments. I had a perfect nights sleep! There is also a lovely garden you can use and enjoy. Staff were very relaxed, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was faultless, generous servings, everything on the menu you could want, hot and beautifully cooked. I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with a choice of toast. “Quiet location but only 20 mins to Berwick upon Tweed with Holy Island, Bamburgh and Alnwick within easy reach. Bedroom was huge with a comfy bed. Staff were pleasant. Good choice for breakfast and their evening meals were excellent. Restaurant gets very busy so its advisable to book a table. ”

“Booked 2 Rooms & when we arrived the Host said she wasn't letting out Rooms anymore so we were stuck at 7.30pm with nowhere to stay. Having trouble getting a Refund from you. Definitely wouldn't recommend.”

“Return stay. Stayed here many times over the last few years, always a warm and friendly welcome, good service, good food and nice rooms. Also, good for business travellers, breakfast available from 7.30, unlike so many country hotels. The Wheatsheaf is ideally positioned for me to travel out in whatever direction my work takes me. ”

“Room was lovely and cosy, clean and did the job for our two day stay. TV was a bit hit or miss. Only one small mirror in bathroom but no electric socket near the bathroom for drying or straighening hair, mirror in actual bedroom would have been very beneficial.”
