“Very unique. It's a step back in time. Don't expect modern resort but you will get friendly authentic service provided by local people who bend over backwards to fulfill your needs and interests. Dufur is a very small old rural historical town in, what some would call, the middle of nowhere. If you want seclusion and enjoy country walks or bike rides and meeting really interesting people the Balch Hotel is for you as it was for us. The people really are fantastic. Debr helped us with a sticky……

“We loved this cabin the moment we walked in the door! The cabin is well appointed, cozy, and inviting. The glass-fronted wood stove, radiant heat floors, walk-in shower with a forest view, comfortable bed (again with forest view), and the river trail were all highlights. We can't wait to return!”
