“This place was quaint but everything we had hoped. Loved the property and everything was perfect. Please note that this is 1 hour from the Volcano but it is well worth it to stay at this place. Will come again.”

“This is a beautiful, large house designed and constructed in the 1930s for a wealthy Hilo family. The main interiors are dark wood, with original custom bannisters and similar craftsmanship, and the furnishings are period-correct. The present owners have upgraded in various ways, including adding in-room air conditioning (we didn't need, but it was nice to have the option), retrofitted bathrooms, kitchen, wiring, and similar. “since I took the time to read the comments I was expecting things not to be perfect with this stay, had I not researched the property I may have been disappointed due to high hopes, with that said knowing everything with the house was not going to be perfect, I will say we had a great time. location and views are amazing the constant crashing of the waves got to be a little much by the end of the stay, but overall we had a great time.”
