“My husband, grown children and their partners stayed here 12 years ago and the “treehouse” has been a sweet memory for all those years. We decided to return here with good friends of ours and it was as breathtaking as we remembered. The views are spectacular with changing lighting from sunrise to sunset. You are able to enjoy Hawaii without the crowds and traffic but you are only a few miles from stores and great snorkeling. The house itself is well maintained and the big timber construction……

“Anna was a perfect host. She was very welcoming and provided super helpful information, both about the easy check-in and tips for during our stay. The home was absolutely perfect for our family of five adults (us and our 3 adult kids in their 20s). Parking accommodated our two rental cars. Bathrooms and beds were just what we needed. Abundant towels. Full kitchen stocked with essentials and the grill worked great for cooking our meals (mahi mahi tacos for the win!). The large table on the patio……

“We found Kabira and her thoughtfully furnished,clean, efficient apartment very welcoming. Truly a rural retreat and very quiet and relaxing. High up over the ocean!My need of a cane made things a bit challenging getting up a steep driveway and then steps but it was well worth the effort”

“The view from the upstairs deck is so amazing. We brought binoculars and we could see dolphins across the bay. While we were there the neighborhood was quiet. The kitchen was well stocked. I found the photos of the house misleading due to the house being more worn out than is shown in the photos. The bathroom upstairs is small. The setup downstairs is odd. The downstairs rooms are not connected with the upstairs and so families should be aware that those rooms would not work for small……

“Just that- you will not find a better place to stay in the area, for the money. Great host, amazing view, comfortable bed, well set-up kitchen, close to many of the out-of-the-way beaches between Kona and Volcano. And awesome lanai kitties that love skritches. Will definitely be back when we're in the South again.”

“Enjoyed our evenings at the accommodations and mostly travelled to other places on the Big Island. Explored the neighborhood. The only downfall were the local roosters crowing very earlier in the morning.”

“Hidden treasure. Close to the water with excellent snorkeling. About 30 minutes from Kona airport. Only downside was we had people who got motion sickness from driving up and down the winding roads. We did find a less curvy way to get to the house that took longer but kept the motion sickness at bay.”

“Our holiday home on Kealakekua Bay met more than muster for our family of 6 ranging in age from 5-79. The house was pristine and furnished all desired amenitites. We had a direct view of the bay through wide, open, living room doors and lanai, and a short walk to the snorkeling area at Manini Beach. As Midwesterners, we could not have hoped for a more "exotic" Hawaiian experience.Highly, highly recommend.”

“This location is not in the heart of anything and everything is about an hour away. It was quiet and easy to access. We loved our stay, and we are adventurers, so it gave us great access to the whole island. Plus, the sunsets were beautiful and unobstructed. ”

“We love this area, away from hotels and businesses so we can enjoy and take in the sights and sounds of nature. Such an easy walk to the ocean, snorkeling, kayaking, hanging in the park with amazing views.And it’s a short drive up the hill to stores and restaurants. Don’t miss the farmers market on Sunday and be sure to have breakfast or lunch while there.The house is clean, spacious, serene, open air, with sounds of birds and frogs. And so well stocked, kitchen and all.We loved our stay, and……

“Hosts were gracious and helpful. Rooms clean and nice. No stove or oven so cooking limited. Nowhere comfortable to sit for a while. Bathroom roomy and lovely. Would reccomend this property”

“There is plenty of room in this home. It is probably the best stocked (kitchen spices, cooking needs, medicine cabinet, beach items) VRBO that we have ever booked.It was very clean with large bedrooms and bathrooms. We slept well in the North bedroom; the bed was excellent, nice and firm. We enjoyed watching the sunsets from the lanai. Every day we would walk around the neighborhood; there are hills and level areas and little traffic. Don't plan on getting into the ocean here as it is very……

“A no frills great location getaway from the bustle of the Kona area. Easy walking distance to various snorkeling locations around Captain Cook and a short drive to others. Alice and her cat Om were very welcoming and an absolute pleasure to be around. Would definitely stay there again.”
