“The property was a great stay. The rooms are a bit narrow, beds all the way to the wall on one side. The menu they offered and the food was absolutely fantastic. We loved our stay here. The staff was very friendly. But, the cleaning crew start vacuuming so early sometimes as early as 5:00ish in the morning. ”

“Very cute property. The three of us liked our two bedrooms (queen, king, and bunk beds) with small kitchenette. The property has a security gate so we felt quite secure (most all the properties seem to have this - it seems to be a Costa Rica thing). The units are spread among several small buildings that ascend a hillside so there is an inclined path (and a few stairs) leading to most of them. “The property was good. The only problem that i find is that the location is far away from main Tamarindo and the road leading to the property was unpaved. ”

“The Mar Rey was convenient to everything. We’ve staying in Tamarindo many times and wanted to be on the beach this time. We did however end up leaving two days early. A few things … we were in the end room facing the parking lot and street. Which was quite noisy at night. We came back to our room one evening and there was a woman sitting on our patio who walked off the street to wait for her taxi. “This is a great property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff is super helpful with special call out to Diego who helped us find surfing lessons in Tamarindo on our last day at the last minute! We loved our stay here. I highly recommend it. I would say just a smidge pricey for not including breakfast...but all in all, no complaints!”

“Loved to be in front of the beach. The house was in very good-to-excellent condition. There was no AC in the living area and it was too hot at times. There were too many switches that took us a while to figure out. We had a great time and would go back. ”
