“Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, and the breakfast was perfect. It's close to several restaurants, bars, cafes, and a grocery store. The beach and the main strip in Tamarindo are about a 10-15 min walk but we liked this as it kept it very quiet in the room. We stayed for 5 days without a car and did not feel we needed one. Felt more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel, which was a nice surprise. Definitely recommend ”

“Magnifique hébergement . Probablement le plus beau que j’ai fait en voyage . Tout semble avoir été pensé pour notre confort. (lotion moustique bio , savon bio , machine à bruit blanc et bouchon oreille , beaucoup de rangement / corde à linge pour les maillots mouillés) . On voit la qualité (café , serviette , literie) . Le setup de piscine est magnifique . Déjeuner était excellent et les employés étaient super gentil . Il y a présentement de la construction à côté de l’hébergement , mais ce ne……

“This beautiful and tranquil Hotel has a Restaurant onsite serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the food is delicious. They have a stage and host live music ALOT, Amazing! The room was quiet and clean, King size beds are very nice and comfortable. Best part.... It was only 3-4 minutes walk to a beautiful beach that had kayak rentals, a food truck, and lots of locals, not an overcrowded tourist spot. I would definitely stay here again!”

“In The Shade is amazing!! I have been to Costa Rica 8 times now and have tried all different places, but this is at the top. The staff is all so friendly and they serve a great cup of coffee in the morning. What really makes this a good place to stay in Tamarindo is that it's very close to the main roads you will want to spend your time at, but the Hotel is very private. The Hotel is cozy, clean and quiet - what more could you ask for? Overall a 10/10 experience, hopefully I will be back!”

“This is the most beautiful, peaceful and well designed property. Maria and Bathsheba were both so kind and helpful. I stayed in two different rooms, and each one was immaculate. The pools were both beautiful and the grounds were peaceful and perfect. The kitchens in both rooms had everything I wanted and needed to cook meals. I cannot say enough good things about this lovely hotel, that is just a few minutes walk to the beach and to town.”

Outdated Facilities: The roof appears to have been neglected for years, and the overall condition of the facilities is poor. 2. Worn-out Bedding: The bed linens were old and tattered, making for an uncomfortable sleep. 3. Unpleasant Odor: The room smelled damp and musty, reminiscent of an old, poorly ventilated house. 4. “I’ve stayed here at least three times and the service is amazing and the rooms are good, and very clean, you can walk to the beach in 5 to 7 minutes and to shopping in about the same amount of time.”
