“The owner, chef, and ladies made our stay here for my birthday quite special, with champagne, towel art- absolutely amazing!! The monkeys that live here- 2 families- are a hoot! Now I will say they are loud, lots of banging at night, dropping things on the roof. You get used to it, but if you are light sleeper like myself, highly recommend using earplugs and a sleep mask. I would wake up, and think, oh that’s a monkey, and g back to sleep. Elmer the chef made us dinner twice, all delicious food!……

“Latica lodge was amazing to stay at! If you’re looking for that community vibe then this should be on the top of your list. Everyone from all over the world staying there, all having breakfast/supper together was spectular. The owners are everyday people willing to help you out with everything they made the stay so enjoyable. “Endroit magnifique mais malheureusement peut entretenu. Rideaux, divans, literies, beurk ! J’ai jamais vu autant de fourmis dans une propriété. Au moins une centaine sont sorties de la douche à l’étage de l’entrée. Il y en avait à l’étage supérieur également, dans le lit et partout sur le plancher. “We weren't prepared for how remote this property is and the extended rainy season made it even more so with very poor road conditions. Be sure to stock up on EVERYTHING you'll need before going up there as a trip to any store or restaurant will be lengthy. We had to leave after staying only one of our two nights as we just didn't have enough food. There is a restaurant on the property which would have been a complete game changer but it wasn't open during our visit in mid-November. The times……

“I had Mountain Bike race in the area and the hotel was near the race exit. Service is too good that they provided breakfast the night before as breakfast starts at 7:30am and the race started at 5:30am. There are hammocks to relax after race.”

“It’s a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. The pool is great, and there are hammocks beneath the coconut trees, perfect for unwinding. The air conditioning works well, though there’s no refrigerator in the room. Still looking forward to trying the continental breakfast, but expectations are high.”
