“Great get away. Breakfast was great. Dinner was underwhelming but fine. Lunch was pretty good. The wings at the snack bar are great! Staff tried to accommodate requests. Dinner reservations are chaotic. Please put a coffee machine in the lobby or a common 24/7 access area. Having to wait until 7 for coffee is a killer when the sun is up at 5. Coffee in the room is not a good option. Comments about walking a lot are over exaggerated. The hills and steps could be a challenge with mobility……

“I recently stayed at Papagayo Golden Palms and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, always making sure we had everything we needed. “Lovely place on older side of things, but very clean, staff very friendly, the pool is a bonus, breakfast served, enough to fill your first morning hunger. Safe, walking distance to the Town centre , park/ church area, beautiful site, lots of birds never heared or seen so many. Dinned at a Peruvian Restaurant in the vecinity yummy food. ”

“Although the room was small and simple, it was clean, comfortable, and with good A/C. No hot water but who needs it in 33 degree heat. A bit noisy from the adjacent bar, but no problem with ear plugs. Good food in the attached restaurant. The staff were fabulous - friendly and super helpful and went out of their way. ”

“We loved staying at Canon de La Vieja Lodge for our first few nights in Costa Rica. It was a short distance from the airport and close to the National Park. Lots to explore in the area. The property had many activities to enjoy. Even though the property is popular with tour groups we never felt it was crowded and always found quiet areas to enjoy by ourselves. We greatly appreciated the hot water pools down by the river as well as the main pool with it's swim up bar. Highly recommend this Lodge.……
