“Great location near nice beach/park within minutes from downtown Hilo. Awesome manager communication with excellent local recommendations. Easy access, parking, and key elevator for secure building access. Only negative is there were many small bugs probably due to the closeness of the park and very loud traffic noise due to being on a main street.”

“My husband and I stayed in this condo for 9 days and enjoyed every minute. First of all, Salt Water Vacations staff were wonderful. We had a local liaison introduce herself and was present for any concerns we might have had. They bent over backwards to make our stay comfortable. The condo was very comfortable and inviting. The bed in the main bedroom was so comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. We met many wonderful people there at Mauna Loa Shores. Big shout out to Mr. Gomez, the building……

“We recently stayed in Mauna Loa Shores for 4 nights. The condo was clean and nicely furnished with basic kitchen amenities. Our unit also provided beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, and a selection of snorkel equipment. The location is excellent as it is situated right next to Carlsmith Beach Park. It has a beautiful balcony view of the beach park and nature area directly behind the condos. In addition, there is a very good restaurant, The Seaside Restaurant, within a short walk.……

“Building as a whole is a little dated (lobby, hallways, ponds, and parking stall) but looks like a refresh is in progress.The apartment was immaculate and comfortable. The perfect furniture and color palette I would have chosen for my home. “The condo was very spacious. So lovely to have 2 bathrooms. We only used the primary shower. The bathtub shower could use a little updating. The kitchen had what we needed, we only made breakfast. The pan was in good condition. There was only salt, pepper and a couple of condiments in the frig. No oils or other spices or coffee. There is a 12 cup coffee maker with reusable filter. The parking spot is in the rear of the building, there are stairs from the lot to enter to the back door, you need……

“This property was close to everything. We were 10-15 minutes from most beaches and dining (often less). Plenty of restaurants in the area. The beds got mixed reviews from our group of four-two loved them, two were less in love, but I think you will have personal preferences anywhere you go! “Nice place has the basic necessities. Great location. ”

“Six friends came to Hilo for Merrie Monarch. We could easily walk to the festival sites and avoid difficult-to-find parking. The condo was comfortable and clean with great views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa. Our host Jenny was very communicative. We would stay there again. ”

“This was a great, affordable location to stay while we explored Hilo and the surrounding area. It was clean and well taken care of. Our two boys used cots in the living room and we were able to sleep 4 without an issue. Great balcony for morning coffee and minutes away from many attractions.Two small challenges - it was not easy to find the correct parking lot in the dark and when we arrived late the AC wasn't on and it was a hot night, but that was a minor inconvenience.”
