“Guesthouse was very much as shown: community spaces for bathrooms and cooking etc. and the location was great, very close to Akaka Falls yet outside of town enough to enjoy slowing down. Found great shaved ice at the Aloha General Store. We stayed in the king bed room, which was clean and mostly comfortable, but gets baked in the sun from sunrise. The room was very hot and could use a ceiling fan, the small one provided barely worked to cool the large room… and having the windows open meant……

“Aloha Lodge was the perfect location for our trip to Volcano National Park. Short distance to park and not far from Hilo and Pahoa. Extremely clean and comfortable. After a long day of exploring it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind. Would stay there again if in the area. ”

“ This house was great for our family trip to Hilo. We had 2 adults and 2 kids, one kid slept on a pull-out couch in the living room and was very comfortable. The house was very nice and clean. The hosts were communicative and answered any questions we had promptly. The house is a little outside Hilo, but it was an easy drive and is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. We would highly recommend this house for a family looking for a nice, comfortable, safe place to stay in the Hilo area.”

“Beautiful house from the mid-1930’s filled with wonderful artifacts and Hawaiiana. Nice kitchen area for in home cooking - pots pans rice cooker etc- Comfynooks for relaxing- great wrap around deck with lounge chairs and a dining table! The garden is lush and creative. There are many cocqui frogs at night so if that bothers you, there is even ears plugs! Our only negative was that due to a plumbing issue my husband could not soak in the tub (for his degenerative disk) altho the shower worked……
