“We have just returned home after a 2 week stay at Milford House which we highly recommend. The house is clean, spacious and comfortable and everything we could have possibly needed was provided, including a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The house is in a convenient location, only a minute or two's walk from the centre of the village. A particular highlight was the bedroom in the roof and the sounds of the sheep and cows in the fields nearby! We enjoyed staying in Tideswell……
“Delightful old hilltop inn with commanding views over the Dales.
Friendly efficient staff.
Very well appointed spacious modern room ( Barrel).
Excellent stylish dinner: there is a chef behind the scenes!
Attractive base for walking/ touring”
“Super 2 days in a great spot.
Delicious breakfast and we ate at the hotel both evenings. Good choice of food. Averagely priced. Comfortable room but pillows a bit too firm for me.
Very pleasant and attentive staff”
“Average stay, tv not receiving signal, boiler broke down, although owner came out to fix within a few hours. Very poor welcome pack (small bottle of milk). No logs or kindling for log burner. View from back of cottage spoilt by messy and junk strewn garden. Nice location with good pubs in village that did good food, just check what days they open.”
“A lovely location to stay for a few days walking.
Owners and staff welcoming and friendly, good food, breakfast & evening, good service. Shepherds huts are clean, warm & cosy.
Within good distance for both Chatsworth House & Bakewell also good walks from the inn.
I had a very pleasant stay, thank you to the staff.”
“Bike and Boot is a classy unpretensious hotel with great facilities and delightful staff. Easy access by train and bus and the centre of miles of great footpaths.”
“This hotel is located in a beautiful old building with a gorgeous garden. The rooms are charming. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast each day and the bar in the evening. Nice wine selection! Its a great locattion for visiting Chatsworth House and the beautful scenery of the Peak Distict.”
