“Lovely place to stay the night whilst we were visiting Chatsworth House. Nice and quiet ample parking. The room was really clean and everything we needed was provided even a fan which was a god send as the weather was sweltering. Had a perfect nights sleep. The staff were amazing and extremely friendly both at the reception and in the restaurant. We had both and evening meal and breakfast the food was lovely, hot and well prepared. We had drinks in the garden over looking the beautiful field's……

“Excellent service as soon as I arrived at The Barrel Inn. All the staff I came into contact with were friendly and extremely helpful. From check in, breakfast, bar staff and waiting on. Food was wonderful. Apart from the above what most impressed was when I was out for a walk, Oliver contacted me to see if myself and my husband needed a reservation for that evening. Above and beyond as far as I'm concerned, looking after their residents. As I know from the evening before the pub would have been……

“Lovely, cosy pub hotel. Great food with a choice of menus, ranging from the tasting menu to simple (but very well done) pub fayre. We chose from the pub menu, special mention to the fish and chips, perfect! Accompanied by a good choice of drinks, with beer from the local Thornbridge brewery. Very handy spot for local attractions. We stayed for one night on a mini-break and the room was perfect. Lovely bedroom decoration, nicely fitted out bathroom with a decent sized bath and rainfall……

“Check in: at the bar. Wait for 5 minutes as the staff served at the bar at that time. Wifi: good. Room: spacious, clean. One grocery shop near by, 5 minutes walk. No self laundry service. Breakfast: not buffet except juoice, milk and cereal, ok, basic. ”
