“This was our first visit to Hawaii and we couldn't have found a better property to stay at. Secluded, quiet and well maintained. The River Cottage was so well equipped with kitchen ware, microwave, full oven, refrigerator and even Alexa for listening 🎧 to music at night on our Lanai. Paul the property manager was gracious and the cottage was immaculate. From this property, you are only five minutes by car away from Smith Family Farms where there is a 30 acre botanical garden and luau that runs……

“The location is absolutely the highlight of this rental. The short walk to the beach and easy access to the bike path is superb. There's a nice market walking distance down the street. There's even a nice pool on the property for use. The condo itself is teeny tiny. The photos do not do justice to the small second "room", which is really more like a foyer. “The property is immaculate and very well designed. Loved the small patio! Was just a short drive to the grocery in Princeville and less than 10 minutes down into Hanalei. Would definitely consider another stay here the next time we visit Kauai.”

“An uncomplicated house sitting right on the beach! "No fluff" is not a bad thing, just that the house had exactly what you needed and nothing you did not. Ample sleeping space, multiple bathrooms, easy beachfront access, and an outdoor shower to get the sand off. Easy check-in to boot!Oh, and we counted 14 wild peacocks roaming the property at one time! Really neat for the kids!”

“Exceptional! Our host Elaine was an amazing host and checked in on us regularly throughout our stay. She went out of her way to make our check in process easier, even in the dark. Very thoughtful. The property was spotless, including the grill, which is rare. Great attention to detail. Location was perfect and Elaine suggested some beaches in the area. We loved the pool and enjoyed lots of time swimming and sunning in the spacious area. The deck off the back of the cottage was also a great……

“Building is gorgeous inside and out. Everything you need is there, we even left a couple bamboo mats for the next visitors. Sat out on the porch in the evening drinking wine and listening to the frogs.Note that as the proprietor states, it is up in the rain forest, so it will rain and can be cool. That being said, it's a 20 minute drive down to sunny Kailua (where it can be a bit uncomfortably hot!).Owner very responsive. Nice stay”

“We enjoyed our week at the cottage. It was so nice to have our own private space. It was quiet and comfy with all the amenities you could possibly need. The view of the water from the patio was awesome and it was an easy little trail to get to the beach for a walk on the sand. We got to see a turtle resting our first day! The cottage was clean and well stocked with linens, towels, beach necessities and all our kitchen needs. We had easy access to all of Kihei and Wailea, a lot of things……
