“The James river hotel formally the King James is almost historical in Newport News. The hotel has been through VERY ROUGH times of people it's time in business. “This hotel was a pleasant surprise as it is older but very well maintained. The rooms are very nice, beds were comfortable and the front desk attendant was awesome. We stayed for 2 nights and ended up having to stay a 3rd night so I went right back to Relax Inn. If ever in Hampton again this is where I will stay.”

“Usually my stay at this hotel is great but this time we got a room when we initially got there, the TV wouldn’t come on, everything else looked great. Since the TV wasn’t working, my husband called the front desk to let them know so we were given another room whereas this room had a torn sofa and much smaller television but we stayed put because we didn’t want to change rooms again. ”
