“Lovely country pub with loads of character. Located in a small village, in an isolated, quiet location. Warm welcome from the Land Lady and Scrappy Do. Friendly and helpful staff. Stayed two nights, room clean and comfortable with tea/coffe and TV. Free wifi, useful as there was no phone signal. Ate at the pub both nights, tasty, reasonably priced food. Recomend the Venison pie with a glass of red. Overall, an excellent stay, definately recommend. Will be staying again when back in the area.”

“Arrived in the Bar for a quick check in and a guided tour of how things worked in the room. The room was modern and clean. Large shower which worked correctly. kitchen next door with a big fridge and a carton of fresh proper milk. A kettle was provided in the room. So you only needed to collect your milk when making a brew. Nice outside area for enjoying the evening sun. Large decent private carpark with easy access. Meals in the restaurant area were excellent, and reasonably priced. I believe……

“The Shepherds hut was just perfect for a relaxing stay, lots of little thoughtful touches such as home made bread, jam and granola. Very peaceful setting, beautiful garden, welcoming hosts. We loved our stay.”

“Check out at 10am is too early. Continental breakfast a bit limit. But Bacon Omelette lovely. Overall, otherwise hotel great and thanks for the upgrade, even better value ”

“Julie my wife and I stayed at kates farm for three nights for a break and a rest, we had a great break and we are totally rested. Fantastic break, Julie and Kate walking dogs every morning and evening, I kept the real fire going and that was perfect for us to sit down next to in the evening. Others said the breakfast was great and they are correct, Kates breakfast was fantastic .Kate was very attentive at all times and we felt perfectly at home.”

“We could not have had a better stay. The hosts are so kind and helpful. The food was great. The rooms are cozy. The baths have lots of hot water and great shower pressure. We also had a lovely walk around the village after dinner. We definitely recommend. ”

“A beautiful pub and gorgeous room. Which unfortunately sits bove the bar from where there is constant music playing which you can hear in your room, so not ideal. ”

“Despite the proprietor being busy serving in the pub, he greeted me, booked me in and directed me to my room. He requested and noted the time I required breakfast the following day. Next morning, he greeted me and directed me to the breakfast room, when he took my order and served up a perfectly cooked meal within a most acceptable time. An excellent experience.”

“I was slightly worried when we drove into the car park as it was a bit scruffy, but I needn’t have worried as the hotel is excellent, with large, comfortable, clean rooms, and really lovely staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.”
