“Owner Mike is friendly and service and his breakfast cooking was good. One thing I feel can further improve is, when we arrived at the hotel around 1700hrs it was already total darkness as we are travelling in winter Dec 2024. Mike should install a lamp by the sign board where the instructions for the guests, to guide the guests to the instruction’s board, as the winter darkness make it challenging for us. He should also change the blackboard to others board as the chalk on the blackboard……

“Had a great time in this historic home in Bourton on the Water. Exposed oak beams, huge old fireplaces are terrific. Location is as good as it gets. ”

“We stayed with 3 families with 7 kids and Grandma over Easter. The place was fantastic with a number of really helpful amenities such as towels and robes, shampoo and shower gel, dishwasher tablets, sugar, coffee pods etc… Communications were great, and the hosts were evening responding when we had a slight issue on Saturday evening. We would definitely recommend and are hopefully going to book again for our next family gathering sometime. ”

“The farm house was amazing. This unbelievable property with amazing views and scenic beaut makes the setting very special.Inconsistent heat and unreliable hot water, and limited laundry keeps this property from receiving 5 stars.We loved the location and seeing sheep and cattle grazing outside our window was very special. Every bathroom didn’t have consistent hot water and the laundry was insufficient for 10 adults. We couldn’t ask for a better scenic location but consistent modern conveniences……

“Very cold,unable to reach housekeeper,despite five messages,logs not available for fire unless purchased at 5 per bag.Mice droppings in kitchen cupboards and no water on final day due to Thames Water problem.We have stayed in numerous Cotswold properties and this one was very disappointing and overpriced.”

“Beautiful kitchen with woodburner, great for when dogs got wet. Amazing lounge with panoramic views over the valley, also with woodburner. Two beautiful bedrooms with large comfy beds. The Retreat is really lovely, even better than photographs!”
