“We stayed at the”Blackhaus” January 19-23. The house was perfect for our 3 teenage boys and my wife and I. It is a bit off the road which offers serenity and peace. The house is well appointed and met all of our needs. It is located just about 8 minutes from whiteface ski resort and about 22 minutes to lake placid. I Will definitely stay here again. ”

“We love Karen's place! It's clean, comfortable and quiet, with beautiful mountain views on three sides. We love the proximity to the East branch of the Au Sable River and hiking in the Wilmington and Keene Valley areas. This year, with a toddler among us, we enjoyed visiting nearby farms. Karen is a responsive and responsible host. We're most appreciative.”

“Beautiful, quiet location! We had plenty of space for our family of 6. The back porch was fabulous with amazing sunsets. The screened in porch was wonderful for meals and evenings. The house was incredibly well stocked. We had a handful of meals at the cutest marina restaurant, less than a mile away. There are also quite a few hiking trails nearby. The water was perfect and my kids thoroughly enjoyed the floating dock. Wonderful house and location. ”

“A truly delightful stay! Can’t say enough good things about the house, the setting, the owners and the location. We rented the home for one week to hold a special family gathering with our 2 daughters and sons-in-law. From the start, the owners, Peter and Kathryn, offered us early check-in, as soon as the property was made ready once the previous occupants vacated. And, on departure allowed us a later check out so that one of our sons-in-law could attend to an unexpected work-related emergency.……

“I booked this location for a Father & Son fishing trip. It was perfect! Over the week we caught over 20 fish a day in the pond. Between the boat and the kayaks we explored the entirety of Fern Lake. We also had an opportunity to fly fish one of the best rivers only 20 minutes away. The Camp was in excellent shape. Perfect for our trip or an entire family!!!”
