“5 stars are not enough for this wonderful place. A special thank you to Chathuri and her team for the making us feel so welcome and at home. The property itself is beautiful - a colonial style villa set in lush tropical gardens, with a pool that wraps around the building, but it’s the people who work there that made it one of the most memorable stays ever. The team facilitated lunches, dinners and even a special lunch for visiting family. They always had a smile and a greeting for our 2 year……

“We had an amazing 2 day stay. Place was gorgeous, with 5 star rooms and service. Food was also great with more options than you could think of. If you’re looking for extra activities, there is a spa and a list of water activities to do at the beach or on the river. Definitely recommend ”

“Normally I’m not the person who writes reviews. But this hotel really deserves a good review. Its was great staying for me. Great interior design, cozy, clean. Its so close to Galle fort by tuktuk it takes only 230 rupees. Also staff were really really helpful, kind and caring. I had injury on my foot. They were really careful about this. “The pool and beach setting were incredible, the room was spacious and had nice amenitys, the beds were comfy and balconys had a stunning view. We upgraded to half board when we arrived, breakfast had lots of options, dinner was always really high quality food, however the amount offered did seem to depend on how many people were in the hotel at the time. ”

“Super friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with a sincere smile:) Delicious and varied breakfast deserves 5stars. The room is spacious and bedding so comfortable and luxurious. Very private and personal with balcony, and the swimming pool can be just for you. Highly recommended! ”

“Alles Essen war fantastisch und gegenüber Schweizer Preisen sehr günstig. Zimmer toll, eher etwas klein, langte jedoch. Im Schrank nicht viel Platz. Tolle Aussicht vom Balkon auf‘s Meer. Manchmsl dauerte es etwas sehr lange, bis man das bestellte Essen und die Getränke erhielt. An der Reception sprachen sie eher schlecht englisch. Als wir für einen Ausflug fragten, streckten sie einem nur ein Heft hin. Um eine Adresse zu erfahren, war es sehr mühsam. Jeden Abend tolle Life-Musik bis ca 22……

“At the end of our Sri Lanka holiday we decided to spend a bit more on our Unawatuna hotel & were not disappointed. We had large rooms with loads of space, kitchen, really comfy beds, excellent views from our balconies. The staff were helpful & the pool lovely. We did book nicer rooms that some there & didn't eat so can't comment on the food. It's a bit of a walk or a short Tuk Tuk ride to the main tourist area or a beach but that also means it's quiet there.”
