“Only a brief overnight stay for an event on Saturday. I felt very welcome and very well looked after. Excellent breakfast in the beautiful garden. It’s my first time in Newark but I’m tempted to come back just to stay here again. Spacious room, excellent facilities and lovely hosts. ”

“Do not stay here. Found hairs in beds, questionable stains on sheets, can’t explain the smell. Marks on walls, cracks in plaster that were more than hairline and damage everywhere. Needs refurbishing!”

“Convenient location and clean. Easy checkin with the key available from pub across the road. Had unusual single cup kettle and coffee maker and good selection of teas and coffees. Lights and bathroom tap were on timing sensors and both were a bit annoying particularly the tap when you were trying to fill a jug for the kettle. Bedclothing was a bit tired and there were only 2 fairly flat pillows on a standard size double bed. The thing I really didn’t like though was the musty smell of bedding……

“Food is nice. Staff is very polite to help and serve Location is quite close to my destination, only 10 minutes. The view is also great. I could walk around before the breakfast. I like the hotel breakfast, please keep including in the package for the hotel users.”

“I always stay at the Lockkeeper when I'm up visiting family. It's clean, comfortable with plenty of parking and excellent wi-fi (I worked from the hotel one day, including video calls). The staff are always welcoming and friendly and I often eat at the pub when I stay. It would be good to have an ashtray by the hotel, the only ashtrays are currently in front of the pub.”
