“The room and view facilities were fantastic. The bar and restaurant downstairs were busy, but the accommodation upstairs was quiet. The Polish lad (I think) who works there was really friendly, helpful, and quirky. The only two slight issues were that the parking was a bit of a trip but not a deal breaker (£10 per p/night) and that there was a group staying in the room next door who must have been chain-smoking as it stank out the corridor, etc. Other than that, the stay was top class and I will……

“Friendly staff in this hotel, food excellent and varied. Lovely big bedroom, comfy beds with vintage furniture, bathroom could do with a bit of a makeover. Superb view looking over the river with the swans and ducks. No lift in the hotel so I did struggle with the stairs.”

“The staff were very welcoming. The room was amazing. The breakfast choices were varied. My wife had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast and i had the big full english, both of which were cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. We highly recommend you stay here if you get the chance.”

“Interesting old buildings, with some rooms in the pub itself and some in the Hotel across the road. We stayed in the Hotel. Everything was spotlessly clean and bright with friendly helpful staff. The bed were comfy although the heating was slow to get going. It was effective after a while. The heating was a bit noisy during the very cold night with the temperature changes. Hot water in the sink was slow to come through but hot once it did. The shower was hot straight away and powerful. ……
