“Hotel is going through an ownership transition. I asked for a quiet room and was placed in a very quiet corner of the hotel. Plenty of parking. Breakfast was very good. Some areas looked tired, but as the hotel has recently changed ownership, I'll let that slide. Service was very good. Keep up the good work ”

“It might sound like a cliché and a bit over the top but I think this is one of the best hotels in the world. The location is great, ample parking, the location next to the river gives the hotel a great atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the service matches, even when the restaurant is very busy. A nightcap after dinner on the terrace by the river on a warm summer evening! What more could you want? Highly recommended!”

“Very nice property with many period features (it was a railway station originally). Staff were friendly and helpful. We know the fire alarm system works as it went off at 11.30PM (fortunately set off by steam from a shower not a fire). Only observation was that the breakfast seemed expensive didn't find out the quality as we went elsewhere.”

“Trefor the manager was great. Very helpful and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was bright and clean. The facilities were great. The bed was comfortable. The bar and restaurant were nice and I enjoyed the live music and quiz night.”

“Absolutely loved this place. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and wanted. The position of High Corner is fantastic and that’s not really doing it justice! The staff, all of them, were polite, welcoming, helpful and a credit to the pub. The rooms we had were lovely although one was a little small due to being upstairs, however this did not detract from my stay as I had it all to myself! Food, especially breakfast was very good. “Really nice and relaxing hotel in beautiful surroundings. It was clean and staff were friendly. Pricey drinks and a hard bed but bearable for 1 night.”

“Great location a short drive from a beach we found. There isn’t a lot near the hotel but it is accessible to the surrounding areas for visiting places by car or bike. The room was large and had aircon plus a huge Dyson fan which was a plus in the heatwave. King size bed and double aspect and tastefully furnished with tea, coffee and water. Couldn’t fault the room. We ate in the restaurant ( outside dining) which was great but I booked prior to arrival. The food was average, we had a steak which……
