“A beautiful hotel set in lovely gardens on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Friendly, attentive and helpful staff. Very good standard of food. The classic room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Perfect for a relaxing break once you have negotiated the 1.5 mile single track road to the hotel!”

“If you are looking to stay in a traditional English Pub, this is the place. Cozy rooms with great washroom facilities. Very clean and comfortable beds. Rooms are equipped with electricity outlets, wifi and tv for those needing it. The pub itself is fantastic with a very well stocked bar. The restaurant serves home cooked meals with a great selection of local produce. From this location you are pretty central to either coast and Dartmoor itself. “This was an unscheduled stop on route to Cornwall due to bad weather. What a pleasant surprise, a beautiful old Inn a short distance from the A30. The staff were friendly and helpful, great service a lovely evening meal and an excellent breakfast. We will definitely be returning with hopefully better weather.”

“Really nice room in a lovely coaching inn. Quality bedding , towels etc. comfy bed. Booked & prepaid thru Hotels.com and when we arrived we were a little taken aback to be charged an extra £20 for our little dog. It would have been nice to have known about this extra fee beforehand as it came as a bit of a shock , I didn’t get any reply from accommodation following my messaging them & also leaving a telephone message to say we’re bringing our dog. Other than that , a good stay. ”
