“We arrived at 17:45 on the Sunday, to find that the kitchen closed at 18:00. We had just walked 14 miles as part of our Grand Union Canal walk for Yorkshire Cancer Research. The staff were very accommodating and we were well fed! The shock was when we received the receipt for the meals and a few beers and a 10% service charge had been added. We were not asked whether we wanted to pay that. Given the circumstances, we would probably have agreed to it, but it would have been nice to be asked. ”

“Stayed here to be close to Silverstone circuit for Moto GP. Did the job, 15 minutes to the circuit. Room clean, bed comfy, hot shower. Communal areas really need cleaning up and decorating. Not a good impression! Glad room was better!”

“What a fantastic place. If you are going to Silverstone you won’t get a better place to stay. Secure parking at the back of the pub for your bike, ten minutes from the circuit and super friendly staff. The food was excellent, best I’ve eaten in years of travel around the World let alone the UK. A gem of a place. ”

Sian is a perfect host, and my single room upstairs overlooking the back garden was very quiet, had a very comfortable bed, a chair, and plenty of spaces, surfaces, and hooks to put things in or on. I could sit in the breakfast room any time of the day if I wanted a table space for working on a laptop, and I was welcome to store items in the fridge. Delicious cooked breakfast of any version of a Traditional English you prefer, plus cereal, yoghurt, fruit, juices.……
