“Had a great stay. We were there for the reggae fest at another venue that finished at 8pm & by pure change the hunting lodge had a SKA night on. So was great carrying on. Enjoyed it so much. Had a great sleep with comfy bed & fab cooked breakfast £10 each extra but well worth it. The staff were friendly & helpful. Will definitely stay again. ”

“We were looking for a characterful hotel in the middle of Melton Mowbray and that is what we got for a very reasonable tarif. Our rooms had recently been refurbished and although smallish were perfectly okay for our short stay. Easy free parking behind the hotel.”

“Stayed one night on a solo trip. Lovely location and views. Rooms were comfortable and a good size. Clean and presentable. Best thing about the stay was the friendliness of the staff. Breakfast was a late addition for me and I'm glad I did. Good quality and choice. ”

“My room was on the top floor with a private use bathroom across the corridor frommy room. It was a small shower room with toilet. The shower was OK, but not very powerful. I liked the amenities provided. Shower gel etc and a razor pack in the bathroom, coffee and hot chocolate in the bedroom. Wifi was excellent. If I have to put some small gripes, it would be there was nowhere to sit and work. So not ideal for a business stay. It was on the top floor which is quite a hike and there is no lift,……

“Cosy place with good breakfast”

“The hotel was lovely. Breakfast was great. Unfortunately on booking we didnt look at opening times. We booked to stay on a Monday. The hotel takes bed & breakfast bookings but the bar & restaurant isnt open on Mondays. So we had to drive 15 minutes to another village for food. Not what we realy wanted to do, but the luckily the other pub served food. It only says on opening time that the bar & restaurant is closed Mondays. It needs to more clearer on website as why would we look at……

“What a little gem, we had a lovely greeting from the host very welcoming, Who showed us to the lovely room,everything was presented beautifully, bed was comfy ,lovely soft pillows and bedding, the breakfast was very good with a variety of fresh fruits, breads ,plenty of choices, lovely guest house ”

“This was probably the weirdest hotel experience in my life. The huge manor has been converted to a hotel but has been neglected recently (including a time housing asylum seekers - Google it). The time around 10 of the 100+ rooms are being used so you “rattle around” especially when you’re the only guests!! The hotel needs investment but it has so much potential and you can imagine it being a thriving hotel in the past. Imagine Covid and only a few rooms allowed to open. We knew there were no……

“So bad. We just arrived around 20 minutes and then they ask us to pay for charge of bath with no reason. I’ve no idea why but the manager told us cuz we have arrived 20 minutes so we need afford the charge of bath. ”
