“The hotel was lovely. Breakfast was great. Unfortunately on booking we didnt look at opening times. We booked to stay on a Monday. The hotel takes bed & breakfast bookings but the bar & restaurant isnt open on Mondays. So we had to drive 15 minutes to another village for food. Not what we realy wanted to do, but the luckily the other pub served food. It only says on opening time that the bar & restaurant is closed Mondays. It needs to more clearer on website as why would we look at……

“This is a perfect hotel. Everything is perfect. Loved the decor, staff, food melts in your mouth. And the housekeepers are amazing, in particular as most of the walks you will take in the area leave you covered in mud. I cannot recommend this place enough. Everything is impeccable.”

“Hotels.com didn’t make me aware that the hotel was closed, the owners of the hotel were not expecting guests, as they were refurbishing the hotel, fortunately the hotel owners were great and arranged a room for me to stay. The hotel is in a good location to explore Rutland Water, I would be happy to stay again but wouldn’t book through Hotels.com”

“The Normanton Park hotel was excellent. The experience with Expedia and our original hotel booking was terrible. We booked several weeks in advance and had a confirmed booking by Expedia at the other hotel, the booking was cancelled at short notice by a phone call from the hotel. It took me 3 hours on the phone to get Expedia to find us another hotel in the area. The original hotel was no help at all, Expedia suggested we call the hotel direct and rebook at a higher cost. Expedia & the other……

“This was probably the weirdest hotel experience in my life. The huge manor has been converted to a hotel but has been neglected recently (including a time housing asylum seekers - Google it). The time around 10 of the 100+ rooms are being used so you “rattle around” especially when you’re the only guests!! The hotel needs investment but it has so much potential and you can imagine it being a thriving hotel in the past. Imagine Covid and only a few rooms allowed to open. We knew there were no……
