“We booked the top floor because it has that attic, Harry Potter feeling. OMG! It is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The room is so beautiful. We felt like we were living in Harry Potter's house, minus where Harry really lived in. Our only wish is that we can live in a place like this permanently. Our kids loved it. It really has that Precious Moments cottage feeling. For me, it really reminded me of the hostel we stayed in Frankfurt, Germany and Britain. The couple that are……

“The area was quiet and calm, the room was small but not a surprise we saw the pictures. It’s very much like a mini cabin and we enjoyed the jacuzzi. The beds were very comfortable and clean. ”

“This is a recently renovated Gold Rush era hotel, very quaint and authentic. The rooms and bathrooms have been updated to modern standards which is nice, but have authentic period decor/antiques. The town is VERY small and cute, extremely quiet (in general) and a walkable historic self-guided tour. It makes a great base of operations for exploring the area. A couple of things to know: it is 3 story, but because of the age, there is no elevator (typical with Gold Rush era hotels). They have one……

“If you want to unplug a bit and get away this is the place. Very clean cabins. Kitchen had everything you need. Nice sitting area outside with a grill. Very quiet and relaxing with the Yuba River right there. Staff were extremely nice. Our dogs our now depressed we came home. Pretty sure they thought it was our new home. ”

“You can pay for the breakfast meal that’s served at 8 a.m. If you miss it, then you can make your own sandwich after 9 a.m. Laundry is available for free and communal areas are spacious and inviting.”

“Right across the street from the lake with gorgeous views from the kitchen table -- we fell in love with Donner Lake! The cabin was comfortable, but rustic as you'd expect for a mountain lake cabin (eg some damage to floors, janky interior doors, kitchen table wobbly). Dealing with Vacasa as a renter instead of an actual owner is always less personal and more commericalized ... eg they were happy to offer late check out, if we paid an additional fee$$ But overall we loved the location, there……
