“We loved our stay at Kehena house! We were greeted by Stephen when we arrived and given a quick tour. They were hosting a Pride potluck that day and he kindly invited us to come eat and join in as guests of the house. Everyone we met was friendly and we felt safe to be ourselves. In the room, there was a list of unique weekly activities and opportunities near by, which made the experience feel even more welcoming. The property is *amazing*. “This property was great, the only thing that I would say was that the A/C wasn’t preforming the way is should have. Other than that everything else was just awesome, the place was very clean and the location was in a good spot. We are from Hawaii and we came back to visit our family. We would definitely recommend this property for anyone who is staying to visit family in the Puna area, or even just to explore the island. Thank you for a wonderful experience. ”

“The Volcano Home has a rugged sense of utility in its architecture, without losing a hint of homeliness or convenience. The area itself is quite rural, with gravel road crisscrossing dense rainforest. The hosts stock the kitchen, bath, and rooms with plenty of conveniences that might have been forgotten.”

“Great location. We got there at dusk - tropical pathway lights didn't work - most were smashed. Hot tub was not "locked up" as supposed to be - and cloudy. Did not want to chance a UTI so - no tubbing which was the whole reason we picked this little gem. Sink clogged up, wallpaper paper falling off, possible black mold on skylight above bed. No batteries in remote. We left a day early. I hope they fix it up.”
