“The room pretty much ticked all the boxes for me. everything in very good condition, well maintained, very clean room and bathroom. Very reasonably priced. Bath/shower, small touches like biscuit with the tea/coffee kit, and real soap, no nasty squirty dispensers. It is over a pub, so some conversations audible until 11pm, but not to a problem level, and no restaurant, but plenty of food options within easy walking distance. Pub looked fine as well.”

“Stayed here several times now. Staff have always been super friendly and the rooms are good despite being a little dated. The bar is very friendly, food is good and the hotel is conveniently located for the town centre and railway station. Highly recommended. ”

“Another restful stay at this lovely hotel. It’s always spotlessly clean and well maintained. The rooms are modern and well appointed. The bar /restaurant is excellent. We normally stay weekdays and it’s pretty quiet but it’s a near perfect wedding/party venue so I would imagine it’s pretty busy and maybe not so restful at the weekends. It’s situated near but not in the Peak District in lovely surroundings. Hopefully we’ll be back again sometime.”

“A great hotel in excellent condition but the lack of air conditioning on some of these hottest days of the year was an issue. Road noise was also an issue despite the double glazing.”

Breakfast was served in the Tea Room, great choice, quality ingredients cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend ”
