“We really enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful and well equipped, though they could use an update on pots/pans for the kitchen. We experienced a short power outage while we were there (not their fault) and Vacasa was very easy to get a hold of and contacted the property ownerto get updates from the power company. My only suggestion for visitors planning to use the pier would be to bring some bug spray. There was plenty of fish and crabs around the pier and we were able to catch a few of……

“Our extended family of 9 enjoyed being in the house and appreciated all of the space. There were a couple of things that needed to be addressed, but the owner communicated with us immediately & these were taken care of.With some cosmetic updates this property would be a 5.”

“If you’re looking for quiet and solitude, along with a homey place to lay your head - Windswept is it. My husband and I took our two miniature dachshunds with us for 7 days and 6 nights. There was a yard for them to run around in, a long board walk through a salt marsh down to a private beach. We caught crabs ( and threw them back), we flew kites, and just rested. One day we did take the Cedar Island ferry to Oacrscoke (a four hour journey - there and back). Be prepared to come with……

“Very comfortable house, loads of space and lots of storage. We really loved the welcome basket filled with goodies! Plenty of towels, blankets, and essentials. The front bedrooms were extemely bright at night, so much so that we spent a good part of our second day shopping for sleep masks. The beds were very comfortable though and there was plenty of room in the closets and dressers. Some of the soap dispensers were almost empty, but there were so many other things provided that made up for it……

“We stayed at the Sunrise over North River Beaufort House for 10 nights at the end of April to the beginning of May. We had two adults, a pet and a service dog in our party. We were grateful to have a peaceful location with all the amenities of home. The updated main living areas are very nice. The TV, recliners, and view out the sliding glass door were a nice retreat from hectic days.One thing we enjoyed was spotting wildlife and sunrises. “Wonderful lodging for the traveler who wants a quiet and scenic location. Cottage is remote with a scenic drive to reach. Short walk to a quiet wide-open beach. Enjoyed evenings on a lovely large screened in porch. Easy private parking. Interior was comfortable and clean. Outdoor shower was great when returning from beach. Tiny kitchen but has all one needs to cook.”
