“As a woman traveling solo on business, I felt very safe staying in Winston-Salem at this B&B. The Alspaugh King Room is gorgeous. It is thoughtfully appointed and beautifully decorated. The bathroom is just incredible, with a claw-foot tub and a large shower. They even gave me complimentary wine and pretzels at check-in. Three restaurants were just a short walk away, too. I loved every minute of staying here - it was incredibly relaxing after a long day of travel. ”
“Inn is on the National Historic Landmark list. Main house has wonderful character and charm. We had a room on the third floor with a small gas stove. They also have a restaurant and the food was outstanding. We expect to come back many times. Staff was friendly. ”

“This bed and breakfast is located in the heart of Old Salem. The inn is in a 150 year old home and is very charming. My wife and I enjoyed a nice romantic weekend getaway here. The inn host was very friendly and made us feel very welcomed. The complimentary breakfast was very good. There’s a lot of nearby historic sites to view, and some really good restaurants located very close by. I highly recommend staying at the Zevely Inn.”
“Historic, over 100 years old, and former high school, this is an interesting stay that takes you back to that prior generations' feeling. The positives were a comfortable bed, clean, good breakfast, and the sole negative was it was cold on the interior (cold outside) with no available blanket and no ability to increase heat in the room.”
“The room was fine. It was clean. However it was not as it appears in the pictures. The bathroom was super small, and not at all as shown. Also, it seems the TV remote control controls all the TVs, even in the room next door! This made it difficult keeping our TV on the channel we were watching. The staff was super friendly, and the breakfast was good. The coffee is delicious and we bought a couple bags of it from the coffee shop downtown. ”
