“I've stayed here on a number of occasions over the last decade and a bit. I've always found it to be friendly, with good beer and good food. My only reservations are that in colder months, the chalets can be a bit on the cool side despite having heaters. However, on this occasion, I was in one of the newer rooms and the bathroom was nice and warm in the morning and best of all contained a walk-in shower stall, far better than clambering over a bath tub! The pub itself has remained a decent……

“Very cosy and warm, steep steps up to room and parking a few minutes walk away. A wonderful view to wake up to overlooking the river Medway. No breakfast inc and it’s not clear reading the other reviews, I think it’s overpriced without breakfast. We enjoyed our stay but I wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately. If you are a light sleeper noisy traffic in the background also. The host was friendly. ”

“Pleasantly surprised, made to feel very welcome, lovely bar and reception area. Room was cleam, bright and spacious with a large bathroom. Delicious breakfast with cereal, juice, tea & coffee and a cooked breakfast. Only downside was unable to park at hotel but was easy to find somewhere around the corner. ”

“Though GPS directed our car to the tourist coach parking lot at the back, the hotel is just beside the motorway service centre with several restaurants in it. As customer of the hotel, we can buy £10 worth of coupon at £7.5 and the coupon can be used at nearby restaurant. The family room is also spacious, though the nearby gas station charges comparatively higher than other gas station ”

“Work stay .. average age of guests was 70 That said place was old but all good, food was homemade and everyone was pleasant especially Ruby”

“Clean and quiet. Good location, just opposite to the train station and 15 min walk to the Rochester high street. Room is newly furnished and comfortable.”

“Love staying at The Mecure hotel. Staff very friendly. Hotel in a great position for visiting lots of places in Maidstone. Right next door to Leeds castle. ”

“Staff are warm welcoming and friendly. Food is great especially the full english breakfast. Rooms are clean beds are really comfy. Its a 17th century building with all the quirks you would expect. There is a huge beer garden and parking in a nice village location”
