“We have stayed at Hotel Petaluma before. We enjoy the proximity to downtown. The people working there are amazing. The rooms are only ok. “Dawn Ranch is aspirational and mechanical. It has the feel of an influencer property, with the distinctive flourishes and details in place to make it attractive and exciting. The facilities are clean, spare and modern. The fixtures are sufficiently cool with the edison bulbs. But the details makes it feel like the staff is going through the motions of hospitality. “I enjoyed the 50's/60's vibe at the property. There was a huge pool at the hotel and a nice hot tub. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The only drawback for me was the food. “This Hampton Inn is located inside a former factory, which explains its quirks. Some displays of machinery from factory days are around. On a map, it looks like downtown Petaluma is an easy stroll, but it's not. You have to walk through some uninviting areas with no lighting at night. Not many dining options within walking distance and the hotel doesn't offer evening dining. It's a nice hotel, but you'll still want to drive into downtown. ”
