“My second time in a year to the Lake District. Great Hotel and excellent rooms. My room was flooded with light and a big comfortable bed. Heating was great and the house keeping. The breakfasts are fantastic and certainly worth the indulgence. It’s located in a lovely village, with breweries, pubs, tea rooms and local craft shops. I highly recommend a stay. ”

“The hotel could not have been at a better location on the lake, a very large bar area with terrace overlooking the lake, service was excellent and the room was larger than expected, the breakfast was excellent and we ate twice in the hotel and tad expensive for what it was, we had our dog who could accompany us almost everywhere in the hotel, we enjoyed our stay and would return. ”

“Absolutely gorgeous stay at Rum Doodle. Staff couldn’t have been nicer, felt welcomed from the moment they met us at the door. The room was decorated beautifully, exactly what we needed for a few days away. All sorts of amenities and extras - the breakfast options were vast and really tasty. The only thing worth mentioning is parking is up a very tight small hill and when there is a lot of cars in it does get a little difficult. Nothing that would stop us from making a return though. “A really great find! Un peu de cuisine française en Angleterre! Service is excellent, food is so good 10 isn’t enough. They actually know what a ‘kir’ is and the steak comes with a béarnaise thats perfectly made and at the right temperature. The dauphinoise potato was unspeakably good. The rooms are excellent, you can tell that someone has sat and thought about all the little details. Honestly, if you are anywhere near Lancaster for any reason and can find any excuse, you should eat and stay……

"The location is great and nearby the ferry pier. But the hotel is not in good maintenance at room, the toilet ceiling have a lot of dirty water marks, it looked disgusting. I booked a lakeview room that cost £250 a night, but not worth it, the room is really dilapidated, even they don't have a refrigerator at room, I needed to keep my birthday cake in their restaurant. The room price wss including the breakfast but it was lack of choice, they serve breakfast until 10:30 am, when I ordered scrambling egg with smoked salmon toast, they said no more but I saw other customers have it, I thought smoked salmon and egg are very common foods in a hotel restaurant, I wondered why they can tell me no more stocks. I just can say this hotel not worth for money, they are overpriced. Staffs are not really friendly. "
