“Stay in a working monastery! The buildings and extensive grounds are superb. The grounds and gardens are well tended, and make for an extremely pleasant stroll. The place oozes character and makes a memorable visit. All this on the outskirts of Huddersfield. The rooms are basic but clean. Breakfast is only "continental", offering cereals, muesli, yoghurt, plenty of fresh bread for toast and lots of strong filter coffee. The staff are friendly and welcoming.”

“Das Hotel liegt im Headingley Rugby & Cricket Stadion und ist durch die dortige Schranke erreichbar. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und mit der kompletten Fensterfront zum Spielfeld ausgerichtet. Leider kann man die Balkontüre nicht öffnen und es gibt keine Klimaanlage, was es im Zimmer sehr heiß macht. Im Bad gibt es keine Ablagefläche, die Dusche ist groß und gut. “I had a choice of hotels in Leeds or the Black Horse. I'm so glad I chose the latter. Some extra driving, but great to be in a historic building in a historic area, and so close to the motorway and service station.”

“Really good hotel next to Bramhall Lane football ground. Check in was easy and the warm chocolate cookies were very nice. Room was clean and comfortable and the shower was excellent. Could benefit from a few more coffees and milks on the tray though. City centre only ten minutes walk from the hotel. ”

“The room was compact, clean, had a small TV & coffee making facilities, there is a lounge area & kitchen on the same floor that we were on, although we didn’t use it I can see that would be useful, but beware if your not too mobile, there are a lot of steep stairs, also pub below is open till 12 and we did encounter a lot of noise on Sunday night, so if you’re to bed early, be warned. Bed was comfy and has a nice big shower in bathroom. ”
